The Ayam Ketawa, also known as the Laughing Chicken, is a rare breed from Indonesia. It is known for it's hilarious crow, which sounds like a person laughing. The breed is a small sized chicken reminiscent of the Indian Red Jungle Fowl. Our flock is mostly black breasted red but some do carry recessive white. They lay small to medium sized white/tan eggs and are not known to be broody. The birds are alert, great foragers, and their crow brings a smile to our faces every time we  hear it. They are somewhat flighty and not the friendliest but are not aggressive either. If allowed to free range, you may not see them often as they prefer to be up in trees and are hard to catch. We recommend having sturdy, escape proof pens for these birds. They do well in confinement.
 
Our Ayam Ketawa flock is mostly for our own enjoyment and breeding projects. Therefore, chicks and eggs are limited.
